How to book The Old Stables

Bookings run weekly from Friday to Friday. The
accommodation will be available from 3 pm and we ask that you vacate by 10
am in order that it can be thoroughly cleaned. Fresh bed linen is provided
to suit your requirements and is changed weekly. Electricity is charged by
meter reading - there is cheap night-rate. Bath and hand towels can be
provided at small extra cost.
Telephone, fax or email for availability and give your name, address,
contact numbers, preferred holiday dates, the number in your party.
Bookings are only accepted in accordance with the Conditions of Hire as
seen below. This must be signed before a booking can be confirmed.
Your booking will be confirmed by phone, fax or email once the payment is
cleared and you will be sent travel directions when you have paid in full.
Please advise us if you require any extras supplied such as :
Bath and hand towels: Larder pack on arrival (eg bread, eggs, butter,
milk, tea, coffee, sugar)
Please advise us if you have any special needs and we will try our best to
help.
On Arrival
You will be welcomed, shown your accommodation and
given any additional information that may be of help to you. Please advise
us of your arrival time if it is after 3 pm. You will be asked for a
security deposit which will be refunded
on your departure. Costs for electricity or any extra items requested can
then be deducted from this.
If you wish to book then send these details accompanied with a cheque or
postal order made out to E.A. Cohen by return to secure the accommodation,
alternatively pay by credit card at www.paypal.com.
The initial payment (deposit) should be for one quarter of the booking fee.
If it is within four weeks of the holiday it should be for the full amount
If it is within two weeks then the full amount should be paid by bankers
'Third party funds transfer'
If booking from overseas send these details by post accompanied by either
a Eurocheque, registered money order or pay by credit card at
www.paypal.com.
Safety
The Old Stables has night storage heaters which must never be
covered
There is an open tread stairway to the first floor attic bedroom which
elderly people or toddlers may find difficult to manage- a child safety
gate is provided at the top only - the bedroom ceiling slopes
There is a large pond in the owner's adjoining garden
The property is a wooden construction and smoking could cause a fire hazard.
Conditions of Hire
1 You must be over 18 years of age to book the property
2. You cannot allow more people than you have booked for to stay in the
property, nor can you take a pet into the property unless this has been
agreed at the time of booking. If you do the owner will either refuse to
hand over the property to you or will repossess the property and these
circumstances will be treated as cancellation by you and no refund will be
due to you.
3. You agree to keep the accommodation clean and tidy. You are responsible
for the cost of any breakages or damage to the property.. The owner
reserves the right to refuse to hand over to you, or repossess,
accommodation if there is reasonable belief that any damage is likely to
be caused by you or your party or can repossess if damage has been caused.
These circumstances will be treated as cancellation by you and no refund
will be due to you.
4. If you have booked a pet - acceptance is totally at the owners
discretion - it is not allowed on beds or chairs. It must not be left
unattended in the property, dogs must be exercised on leads and their
faeces bagged and disposed of hygenically.
5. You must allow the owner access at any reasonable time during the
holiday
6. You must take all necessary steps to safeguard your personal property
and no liability to you is accepted in respect of damage to, or loss of,
such property. You will be held responsible for any loss or damage caused
in or to the property if you do not leave the property securely shut and
locked in your absence.
If you change or cancel your holiday:
You must contact the owner by fax or post giving details of your
cancellation. If this is received more than six weeks, 42 days, before the
start of your holiday you will be entitled to a full refund of the monies
you have paid less any bank/cheque costs we are charged. If the
cancellation is received more than four weeks, 28 days, before the start
of your holiday you will be entitled to a refund of 50% of the monies paid
less charges as above. If the cancellation is received more than two
weeks,14 days, before the start of the holiday a refund of 25% of the
monies paid, less charges, is returned to you. Cancellation received less
than two weeks, 14 days, before the start of your holiday 10% of the cost
is returned. For cancellation on the day your holiday is due to start
there is no refund. You may wish to take out Cancellation Protection
Insurance.
If we change or cancel your holiday:
In the unlikely event that the owner has to cancel your booking the owner
will try the utmost to find you alternative similar accommodation although
you will have to pay any difference in price - or if the accommodation is
cheaper you will be refunded the difference - and you must inform the
owner within 48 hours if this is acceptable. In the event that you do not
find the alternative acceptable your booking will be treated as cancelled
by the owner and any money you have paid will be refunded in full. The
owner shall not be liable for any such changes or cancellations due to
events beyond their control ('force majeure').
