Welcome to The Old Stables! This converted cottage is set in a beautiful rural area of Kent, surrounded by countryside yet only 35 minutes by train from London. By car it's 15 minutes from the M25 and M20 and one hour from London, Dover, Folkestone & Canterbury. Many places of historic interest are nearby - Ightham Mote, Knole House, Hever Castle, Penshurst Place, Chartwell, Leeds Castle and more. From the property there is a comprehensive footpath network through woods and countryside, a public golf course nearby and pubs serving meals within walking distance. The Old Stables date from the 19th century and have been renovated to a very high standard with a large and light open-plan living room with French doors opening onto a courtyard garden and a fully equipped Shaker-style kitchen. All decorations are simple with co-ordinated furnishings and Kelim rugs on the wood strip floor in the living room. Sleeping accommodation consists of one bedroom with a double bed on the ground floor and an open tread stairway leading to the attic bedroom which has two single beds. There is a shower room on the ground floor with a heated towel rail. |
